Change Link (Stitch X Only)

Last Updated: Jan 29, 2019 10:16AM PST
On Stitch X, if you try to unlink a channel listing that’s associated with open sales orders, you’ll need to immediately update the link to a new variant. This action can have a significant impact on sales orders and fulfillments.

When a listing is associated with open sales orders, changing the variant it’s linked to will update sales order and fulfillment line items. When you update the link, the following updates occur:

Status of order/fulfillment Corresponding change based on newly linked variant
Completed sales orders No change to sales order or fulfillment
Open sales orders Stitch adds an order tag labeled "Listing relinked YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM" and swaps out the old sales order line item (previously linked variant) with the new sales order line item (newly linked variant). The corresponding invoice line item is updated, as well.

Stitch will update the sale order fulfillments as detailed below.
No fulfillment (deleted fulfillment) Stitch will add items to a new fulfillment (in an on-hold state) assigned to the channel's default fulfillment warehouse.
Open and unlocked fulfillment (i.e., not yet acknowledged by shipping) Remove fulfillment line item(s) corresponding with the previously linked variant. If the fulfillment no longer has line items, delete the fulfillment.

Stitch will add the newly linked variant to a new fulfillment (in an on-hold state), assigned to the default warehouse.
Open and locked fulfillment (i.e., acknowledged by shipping) Previously linked variant is not removed from fulfillment line items.

Stitch will add items to a new fulfillment (in an on-hold state) assigned to the default warehouse.
Complete fulfillment Previously linked variant is not removed from fulfillment line items.

Stitch will add the newly linked variant to a new fulfillment (in an on-hold state), assigned to the default warehouse.

Note: In cases where Stitch creates a new fulfillment, the fulfillment will always be on hold, assigned to the channel’s default fulfillment warehouse, and with a ship-to address matching the sales order.

Listings linked to bundles

On sales order fulfillments, Stitch splits bundles into their corresponding components. When you update a channel listing link and a bundle is involved (as the previously linked variant, newly linked variant, or both), Stitch will compare the bundle components to identify the appropriate line item changes.

For example, if you change the link from a bundle with components A, B, and C to a bundle with components A, B, and D, Stitch recognizes that component D is new and component C is no longer associated with the listing. Components A & B are unchanged.

In these scenarios, new components will be added and old components will be removed when the fulfillment status and logic listed above allow for it.
