Manually Splitting Orders

To minimize avoidable delays in shipping, split orders to fine-tune the fulfillment workflow. You can split orders into multiple fulfillments manually and on certain plans, automatically.

Note: This article applies only to our latest version, Stitch X.

Splitting Fulfillments Manually

To split a fulfillment when, for example, you could ship an order right away by drawing some units from a second warehouse, go to the channel order's Fulfillments tab, and click Edit.

Select Split Fulfillment to bring up a modal where you can move units by clicking the arrow or typing a number into the Qty to Move field. Click Split Fulfillment to move selected units, creating a second fulfillment to which you can make changes (such as warehouse).

‚ÄčThe new fulfillment is created in an On Hold status, while the original fulfillment maintains its pre-split status.

Automatic Order Splitting

On qualifying plans, Automatic Order Splitting can be toggled on at the channel level. When this feature is enabled, if no single location can fulfill the entire order based on routing rules, Stitch will try to fulfill part of the order by splitting off a second fulfillment if a location can fulfill any portion of the order.
